Court Puts Kerala Story 2 On Hold
The controversy surrounding Kerala Story 2 has intensified after the Kerala HC granted an interim stay on its release.
The film which was scheduled to hit screens on February 27th has been postponed until further court orders. A bench led by Justice Bechu Kurian Thomas raised concerns about the censor certificate issued by the CBFC.
Petitioners argued that the film could disturb communal harmony and present a negative image of Kerala possibly.
The court observed that Kerala is known for its decent values and peaceful environment and questioned whether these aspects were considered before certification.
Since the film claims to be inspired by real events the court noted the risk of misrepresentation. The matter will be heard again soon.
